Caves is a generative exploration of memory, imagination, and technology. Using artificial intelligence trained on a curated archive of forest science imagery, the work reveals caves—structures never photographed, yet deeply familiar.

The AI functions as a digital mirror, reflecting something primordial beneath the surface of data, tapping into hidden layers of collective memory and imagination.

Informed by Vilém Flusser’s ideas about technical images and the apparatus, this series highlights the tension between human curation and machine autonomy.

The caves, created through a synthesis of archival images and algorithmic dreaming, become sites of digital archaeology—spaces that bridge the conscious act of archiving and the unconscious processes of algorithmic creativity.
